Fans are an important part of Cricket. They make the sport exciting and their banters make the matches ten times more interesting. India undoubtedly has the biggest fanbase in the world and there are some anti-india cricket fans who are always on the lookout to demean the blues. However, the Indian fans are also no less and they reply to the trolls in the best possible way.
Sri Lankan fan Daniel Alexander is one such anti-india fan. He often posts controversial takes criticizing and trolling the Indian cricket team through his official twitter handle ‘@daniel86cricket’. Just two days ago, he wrote a demeaning tweet about Team India during the second ODI between India and Sri lanka when the Lankans were on the verge of winning the match. However, the bubble burst soon as India made a fabulous comeback with Deeapak Chahar’s sensational knock and Daniel Alexander had to delete the tweet. After that, he was trolled heavily by the Indian fans on twitter.
After the third ODI between India and Sri Lanka, the fans repeated the same behaviour as Sri Lanka went on to win the final match of the series. Having won the series already, India made as many as 6 changes ahead of the 3rd ODI and the decision didn’t go in favour of the blues. After a disappointing display in the batting, India could put up a target of only 225. It was difficult for the young bowling unit to defend this target and as expected, Sri Lanka won the final match of the series pretty convincingly.
It was after this, that the Sri Lankan fan Daniel Alexander wrote in a tweet, “India Can’t Win finals.”
The tweet infuriated the Indian fans and they started trolling Daniel by presenting statistics about Sri Lanka’s performances in recent Finals. The T20 series between India and Sri Lanka starts tomorrow at 8pm and that probably will be the best platform to shut the haters.
