Delhi Capitals Announced the Replacement of Rishabh Pant in IPL 2023

According to a PTI source, the Delhi Capitals have announced that Bengal’s Abhishek Porel will replace Rishabh Pant as the captain is still recovering from an injury. With just a few days left until the start of the IPL season, Porel, a left-handed wicket-keeper batsman, is set to take on the role.

Pant, who was injured in an accident last year, has been ruled out of the entire IPL season, leaving the Capitals without their captain. In Pant’s absence, David Warner will be leading the team.

Having made his domestic debut in the previous season, the 20-year-old left-handed batsman from Bengal is now set to replace Rishabh Pant in the Capitals franchise. This is a significant opportunity for him to showcase his talent and establish his reputation in the IPL.

David Warner has been appointed as the captain of the Capitals in the absence of the injured Pant. The franchise has also added Phil Salt and Rossouw to their batting line-up through the auction. In addition to this, Sourav Ganguly, the former India captain and BCCI president, has been appointed as the director of cricket for the franchise.

The Capitals have a demanding IPL schedule this season, as they are frequently on the move. Unlike some teams that get to play several consecutive home games, the Capitals alternate between home and away matches and then travel for the next game throughout the league stage. This means that the players need to adapt to the constant travel and change of environment.
