Former Indian cricketer turned analyst Dinesh Karthik, in a recent interview, has predicted that England will win the upcoming 2021 T20 World Cup which kicks off on 17th October at Oman and UAE.
The quadrennial tournament was earlier decided to be hosted in India but due to the worrying number of COVID-19 cases in the nation, the T20 World Cup was later shifted to the two Arab nations of UAE and Oman.

Dinesh Karthik currently works as a cricket analyst and commentator at English news and media outlet Sky Sports and he has made quite a name for himself as a commentator in a very short time. His growth in the field is seeming to be exponential and he is loving his job. It was at a Sky Sports show that he predicted that England will be winning the 2020 T20 World Cup. If it really does happen, England will have won 2 ICC trophies in a span of 3 years. That is a daunting achievement given that they had none before 2018.
“If you remove my bias for India because that is where I am from and ask me to do something else, I would put England at the top of the run there,” said Dinesh Karthik.
“The brand of cricket that they have played. They have consistently shown other countries how to play this format right from ball one. They have shown it through 50 overs but more so in T20s,” he explained further.

Dinesh Karthik believes that having an experienced captain like Eoin Morgan (his teammate at KKR franchise Kolkata Knight Riders), will be an extra advantage for England.
“But also, a well-oiled team can do with a solid captain Morgan.”
“He [Eoin Morgan] has not got as many runs as he would like with the bat but I am sure when it matters, I am sure he will stand up for them,” he concluded.
