The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest Test rankings for the bowlers. The rankings are released on the basis of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka. India won the match by a huge margin of 304 runs and Shikhar Dhawan was the player of the match for his excellent batting.
The Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin reclaimed his second place, as he took three wickets in the first Test. The other Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja retained his top position, as he took six wickets in the first Test. The Sri Lankan star spinner and also the Test captain Rangana Herath slipped to third position due to his bad performance in the first Test.
Indian pacer Mohammad Shami has gained one place and he is now at the 23rd position. The Indian captain Virat Kohli and the dependable batsman Cheteshwar Pujara retained their fourth and fifth places respectively in the latest ICC Batsmen Rankings. Now it will be interesting to see the performances of both the team members in the last two test matches.
The Australian skipper Steven Smith is still at the top of the rankings in the ICC Test Batsmen Rankings, while Joe Root and Kane Williamson are at the second and third positions respectively.
