The Indian Premier League (IPL) officials announce the venue and date for the play-off matches. The host of the IPL Finals will be Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, on Sunday (May 12).
The Qualifier 1 will be played in Chennai on May 7, that means the defending champion CSK have the chance to qualify for the finals, if the finished 1st or 2nd in the points table. While the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 will be played in Visakhapatnam on May 8 and May 10 respectively.
The Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief, Vinod Rai said,”We had to shift the matches from Chennai to Hyderabad after TNCA intimated us that they have not procured the requisite permission to open the three stands I, J and K.”
“Since the gate sales of the knock-out matches is BCCI’s prerogative, we had to take a call. We would be having two knock-out matches in Vizag,” he added.
