Rajasthan Royals have received a huge blow ahead of the second phase of IPL 2021 as they are set to miss out on their star batsman (cum wicketkeeper) Jos Buttler. The Englishman is expecting a baby soon and has therefore preferred giving time to her wife. Rajasthan Royals officially announced the same on their twitter handle. “Jos Buttler will not be part of the remainder of #IPL2021, as he and Louise are expecting a second child soon. We wish them well, and can’t wait for the newest member of the #RoyalsFamily,” they wrote.

Rajasthan Royals are already set to miss their marquee fast bowler Jofra Archer in IPL 2021 owing to a serious injury. The absence of Jos Buttler too, can prove to be catastrophic for the Royals. The second phase of the Indian Premier League starts on 19th September 2021 and the Royals have now got to act fast to prepare their squad without Jos Buttler.
However, the Royals have already signed a replacement for Jos Buttler in New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Glenn Phillips. Phillips is exactly like Buttler in his style of play and is probably the most apt replacement for the English keeper that Rajasthan Royals could find in this short time.

Rajasthan Royals have their first clash of phase two against KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings, a strong opposition indeed. Royals captain Sanju Samson had been in terrific form in the first half of the tournament and if he continues that same form, RR can expect to get a headstart in the competition.
On the points table, Rajasthan Royals are situated on the fifth position, with just 2 points less than Mumbai Indians who are at the 4th position with 8 points. Almost half of the tournament remains to be played and under the new conditions at UAE, the tables can turn ‘literally’ pretty rapidly.
