Former England captain Michael Vaughan continued to playfully engage with Mohammed Hafeez on social media. Following Hafeez’s criticism of Virat Kohli, Vaughan humorously shared an old clip of the star Indian cricketer dismissing the Pakistan all-rounder.

Hafeez made headlines recently when he referred to Kohli as selfish for taking a single to complete his 49th ODI century during the 2023 World Cup match against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 5.

In a light-hearted jab at Hafeez’s critique of Kohli, Vaughan posted a picture of Kohli celebrating after dismissing the former Pakistan batsman for 15 during a 2012 T20 World Cup match in Colombo.

On Thursday, Vaughan unearthed the video of this dismissal and shared the clip on his social media account with the caption: “Good morning @MHafeez22… Have a great day 😜😜 #India #Pakistan.”

In the 2012 T20 World Cup clash against arch-rivals Pakistan in Colombo, Kohli was named the Player of the Match for his exceptional all-round performance. India bowled first, restricting Pakistan to 128 runs. Kohli also contributed with the ball, taking 1 wicket for 21 runs. He dismissed Hafeez, who attempted to steer a leg-stump delivery towards the offside but was unsuccessful.

Chasing 129 runs, Kohli led yet another successful chase, finishing unbeaten on 78 off 61 balls. It was a splendid innings, comprising eight boundaries and two sixes. India comfortably achieved victory with eight wickets in hand in just 17 overs.
