Mitchell McClenaghan hits back at an RCB fan

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is a well-known and highly popular team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to their star-studded lineup. However, despite boasting some of the greatest players in cricket history, RCB has never been able to perform as a cohesive team and achieve consistent success.

Although RCB has reached the IPL final three times, they have always fallen short and failed to win the tournament, despite having talented players such as Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Shane Watson.

This year, RCB has strengthened its roster with strategic additions, resulting in a deep and highly skilled team with top-performing players. A strong bench is crucial for success in the IPL, particularly with the resumption of home and away matches in 2023, to prevent injury or exhaustion. RCB’s pace options include a talented pool of bowlers like Josh Hazlewood, David Willey, Reece Topley, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, and others.

All-rounders like Glenn Maxwell, Wanindu Hasaranga, Michael Bracewell, and Shahbaz Ahamad add depth to their squad, while Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Fin Allen, and Dinesh Karthik anchor their batting order.

Despite their underperformance, RCB has always enjoyed the unwavering support of their fans, who will be present at M Chinnaswamy Stadium as the IPL returns to a home-and-away format this year. This has made them one of the most popular teams online.

However, a Twitter comment from an RCB fan suggested that fans like Mitchell McClenaghan, a former player for the Mumbai Indians, are not welcome. McClenaghan took a swipe at RCB’s lack of an IPL trophy with a swift response.
