As the IPL season progresses, Mumbai Indians appear to be improving steadily. They have shown a willingness to chase down even massive targets, as demonstrated twice in the current season.
During their game against Rajasthan Royals, they successfully chased down a daunting target of 213, becoming the first team in IPL history to achieve this feat at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
They then replicated this winning strategy against Punjab Kings at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, winning by six wickets with seven balls to spare.
After the game, the Mumbai Indians’ Twitter administrator responded brilliantly to Punjab Kings’ admin by writing, “To all Police departments, Nothing to report here. We just played a game of cricket in Mohali and a team was beaten here. You guys have important matters to take care of. Thank you for your services as always.”
In the match against Punjab Kings, the latter posted an impressive total of 214/3 in their allotted 20 overs, with Liam Livingstone contributing 82 off 42 balls, including 7 fours and 4 sixes.
However, Mumbai Indians had a formidable response, largely led by the performances of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav. Kishan scored 75 off 41 balls, including 7 fours and 4 sixes, while Yadav scored a quickfire 66 off 31 balls, including 8 fours and 2 sixes as an Impact player.
