Nitish Rana issues a note: Team India suffered a devastating defeat in the hands of Sri Lanka at their home in the 3rd T20 match of the ongoing series between the two sides. India had earlier won the ODI series 2-1 and had also taken a lead in the T20 series after winning the first match convincingly. But things changed drastically after the Indian Contingent was hit with the CoronaVirus and more than 9 of their players had to be ruled out of the last 2 matches.

This was a massive loss for the young Indian side as they were left with very few options to choose from and only 4 proper batsmen. The effect was clearly visible in the second match itself. Sri Lanka defeated India comfortably in the second match and made the series 1-1. But their emphatic victory over the Indians in the third match was rather humiliating for the hosts.
India could only put up a total of 81 runs which was their lowest total ever in the shortest format of the game and one of the lowest runs registered by any team in the world. Sri Lanka thus won the series 2-1 in the most convincing manner.
After the defeat, batsman Nitish Rana, who was a part of the Indian team in both the second and the third matches, penned down a heartfelt apology/note on twitter for the Indian fans who they let down in the third match.

“Our social media isn’t just to post victories but also our failures. This tour didn’t go the way I planned or expected it to go but I have learned so much in my last three games. Since the time I’ve held the bat in my hands, I’ve always believed in hard work over luck and this won’t stop me,” Rana posted on Twitter.
He added that “There are people who’ll say stuff and judge me but I won’t let anything tear me down because I know how much I’ve worked for it & I’ll keep moving forward & keep going stronger and be back to win big games for myself & my team.”
Nitish Rana failed to impress with his batting in both the matches he played in but the apology that he issued is being widely applauded by fans all over the nation. His tweet has 16.1k likes as of now.
