After a seven-year hiatus, the Pakistan cricket team has arrived in India to participate in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup, slated to kick off on October 5. In anticipation of this grand event, the menu for the Pakistan team’s stay in Hyderabad has been unveiled. Notably, the menu excludes beef but is thoughtfully designed to meet the daily protein requirements.
The squad, led by Babar Azam, touched down in Hyderabad on September 28, receiving a warm welcome from enthusiastic cricket fans. Their sojourn in Hyderabad will span the next two weeks, during which they will engage in warm-up matches and the initial fixtures of the World Cup 2023.
According to a report by the Press Trust of India (PTI), Pakistan has curated a diverse food menu to ensure the 15-member squad’s nutritional needs are met during the ODI World Cup. Given the unavailability of beef for all the ten participating teams, the menu primarily features chicken, mutton, and fish.
The tantalizing menu for the Men in Green comprises delectable options like succulent grilled lamb chops, flavorful mutton curry, creamy butter chicken, and sumptuous grilled fish. These selections provide the essential protein boost required by the players during this crucial tournament.
In addition to protein-rich choices, the menu also includes carbohydrate-laden items such as steamed basmati rice, spaghetti in savory Bolognese sauce, and a vegetarian pulao. To add a touch of indulgence, players have the option of enjoying Hyderabadi biryani as their cheat meal, making their maiden trip to India a memorable culinary experience.
Warm-up matches ahead of the World Cup are scheduled to commence on September 29, with Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram serving as the venues for these fixtures, in addition to the ten designated venues for the league games. Pakistan’s first warm-up encounter will be against New Zealand in Hyderabad on September 29, followed by a match against the Australian team on October 3, leading up to the main event.
