Punjab Kings youngster Ravi Bihsnoi is being considered to be the next big thing in Indian cricket, seeing his brilliant and consistent performances from the last two seasons in the Indian Premier League with his franchise. The young spin bowler, who was literally a Mr.Nobody before IPL 2020, came to limelight when he made it regularly to the playing XI of a star-studded Punjab Kings side and also cemented his position in the team with his consistent performances. He is currently on the list or in contention to win the Purple cap award for IPL 2021 and is right at the top with the very best bowlers of the tournament.
His brilliant spell last night against Kolkata Knight Riders wherein he dismissed two of the best bowlers of the KKR side, namely Rahul Tripathi and their man in form Venkatesh Iyer, and maintained an economy of just 5.50 which is insanely good in a competition as demanding as the Indian Premier League. A spinner maintaining such a low economy at Dubai is insane.
Punjab Kings ultimately ended up winning the match courtesy of individual performances of Ravi Bishnoi, Shah Rukh Khan and their captain KL Rahul although some other players also did decently well.
After the match in the post match conference, Ravi Bishnoi was asked about the toughest batsman who he has faced in the IPL so far, to which he gave a very expected answer that pleased the fans.
Ravi Bishnoi said, “Kohli, Dhoni, and Rohit are special and great players but for me, Suryakumar Yadav has been the most challenging. So, it is always more satisfying to outfox him.”
He further added “Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma are legends, and who doesn’t want to pick their wickets? If my team can win from those spells, it will be great.”
