Jos Buttler, the esteemed batter from the Rajasthan Royals and captain of England’s limited overs team, is on the verge of receiving a lucrative multi-year contract from various international franchises. As per reports from the British media, the Rajasthan Royals franchise intends to extend an offer of INR 40 Crore to secure Buttler’s services for the upcoming IPL 2024 season.
According to a report by the British newspaper ‘Telegraph’ on June 29, the Rajasthan Royals, an IPL franchise, is preparing to present Jos Buttler with an enticing multi-year contract. The Rajasthan Royals franchise extends its presence beyond the IPL, participating in various leagues such as ILT20, SA20, Caribbean Premier League, and Major League Cricket.
According to a report in the ‘Telegraph,’ England’s white-ball captain, Jos Buttler, is poised to receive a significant four-year contract offer from his Indian Premier League franchise, the Rajasthan Royals. The formal proposal has yet to be presented, and it remains uncertain whether the captain of the T20 World Cup-winning team will accept the deal.
In the latest update, the Rajasthan Royals franchise is planning to extend a four-year contract to Jos Buttler, allowing him to play for both RR and other teams under the same management. The explosive batter has reportedly been offered INR 40 crore for the duration of the contract.
Since joining the Jaipur-based franchise after his stint with the Mumbai Indians, Buttler has emerged as one of RR’s top batters. He led the England side to victory in the 2022 T20 World Cup and played a pivotal role in their triumph in the 2019 ODI World Cup.
At present, Buttler represents the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and the Paarl Royals in SA20, but he does not feature for the Barbados Royals in the CPL. There is also a possibility of him being selected by the RR management for the upcoming Major League Cricket (MLC) in the USA.
It’s important to note that accepting the multi-year deal from the RR franchise may require Buttler to forego his national contract. He will need permission from the Rajasthan Royals management to participate in any format of the game for the national side.
