Rinku Singh’s unfortunate slip paved the way for Kusal Perera’s half-century.

After a dominant victory in the previous match, India faced Sri Lanka in the second T20I at Kandy. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Indian bowlers made a strong start, with Arshdeep Singh dismissing Kusal Mendis in the fourth over.

However, Kusal Perera and Pathum Nissanka formed a solid partnership, adding 54 runs and taking Sri Lanka to 77/1 in nine overs. Following Nissanka’s dismissal, the focus shifted to Perera to maintain the momentum.

Perera reached his half-century, aided by a fielding mishap from Rinku Singh. On the third ball of the 14th over, Hardik Pandya delivered a back-of-a-length ball that Perera pulled towards deep backward square leg.

Rinku ran in from his deep position, attempting a reverse cup catch. He successfully grabbed the catch but unfortunately lost his balance and slipped, touching the boundary with the ball still in his hand.

Disappointed, Rinku threw the ball back to the wicketkeeper while Perera showed signs of relief. The incident quickly caught the attention of social media, with fans and commentators discussing the moment on Twitter.
