Ishan Kishan take page out of ‘Warnie’s’ playbook to master art of leg spin

With everything on the line during the final day of the prestigious tournament, Sarfaraz Khan and Tanush Kotian took to the field in the morning session.

However, Sarfaraz’s stay was brief, as Saranash Jain struck with a five-wicket haul, trapping him lbw. Shardul Thakur followed shortly after, dismissed within ten balls.

Meanwhile, Kotian steadied the innings, helping the score reach 260/8 alongside Mohit Avasthi’s resilient effort. As the ninth-wicket partnership grew, the Rest of India turned to Kishan for a change in bowling.

With just one over left before lunch, the Jharkhand wicketkeeper took to the crease with the ball. He was seen spinning it with impressive revolutions before delivering his first ball from around the wicket. The initial delivery, pitched outside leg stump, turned sharply and struck Avasthi’s pad, while he successfully defended the next one aimed at the stumps.

Following a couple of singles, Kishan delivered a dot ball before a length delivery was dispatched fiercely through the off side for four runs. Though not a regular bowler, Kishan’s early run-up prompted comparisons to the legendary Shane Warne on Twitter.
