Shane Warne tests positive for Covid-19 in England

The former Australian Great Shane Warne tests positive for Covid-19, Shane Warne who has been assigned as the coach of London Spirit contracts the Corona Virus infection in the UK.

Warne who reported being unwell on sunday just before the game of London Spirit and Southern Brave at the Lord’s . The rapid antigen test has come positive while Warne who is currently in isolation waiting for the RT-PCR report.

Shane Warne has missed the last game London Spirit against the Southern Brave in the new innovations of England Cricket Board “The Hundred”. He is currently under isolation as he is one of the two members of the coaching staff who has tested positive.

David Ripley, the Northamptonshire head coach and one of the Spirit’s assistants, will act as head coach in Warne’s absence.

A club statement read: “London Spirit men’s head coach Shane Warne will be absent from today’s match against Southern Brave at Lord’s.

“After feeling unwell this morning, Shane returned a positive lateral flow test and will isolate from the squad and support staff whilst he awaits PCR results.

“A second member of the team management is self-isolating after also returning a positive test. No players have been impacted.”

Warne is the second coach in the men’s competition to tests positive earlier the head coach of Trent Rockets Head coach Andy Flower has tested positive last week . It’s all happened in the first 10 days of competition with long way to go it will be a huge task ahead for ECB to move forward with the tournament.
