The Australian skipper Steve Smith is very impressed with the performance of Virat Kohli and Team India in the first One Day International match of the Paytm series. Smith said that statement ahead of the second match. That match is the 100th One Day International match for Steve Smith.
He said,”Virat is a terrific player and captain and what he has done with the Indian team, it’s been exceptional. Personally, I don’t like to have battles with different players, I only try to go out there and do the best job that I can, for myself and for the team. I put everything behind me and just concentrate on the job at hand. I leave the comparison for others to do, for me it’s about doing the best that I can and trying to get better every day.”
“I’ve been around for quite some time now. I played my first ODI in 2010. It has taken me a long time to get 100 games. Started as a leg-spinner, first 31 games that I played. Then I had a couple of years off and then came back and pretty much played every one-day since then. It’s been a good 10 years. It’s a great honour and really looking forward to getting out there tomorrow,” he added.
The Indian cricket team won the first One Day International match by 26 runs in a rain affected match. The second Kolkata ODI match might be also affected by bad weather, as the team India skipped the practice session due to rainy weather.
