Sudharsan’s ton in vain as Kotian and Krishna star in India A’s Duleep Trophy triumph

In a surprising move, India A batted for a couple of overs in the morning session of day four, extending their lead to 350 runs.

Another unexpected decision saw Vyshak Vijaykumar opening the batting alongside skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, with the duo putting on 38 runs for the first wicket. B Sai Sudharsan then joined Gaikwad, playing a steady innings until lunch, with the score at 78/1 after 29 overs.

In the second session, the right-left combination of Sudharsan and Gaikwad added 77 runs for the second wicket before Aaqib Khan turned the tide by dismissing Gaikwad and then cleaning up Rajat Patidar, despite the pitch offering little assistance to the bowlers.

Ishan Kishan attempted to counterattack with three boundaries, but his innings was cut short by Tanush Kotian, who showcased his spin skills by taking three quick wickets.

With the score at 188/6, India C was in trouble, but Sudharsan fought back, notching up a delightful century. Just as he seemed solid in defense, Prasidh Krishna’s reintroduction proved fruitful for Agarwal’s team, as he dismissed Sudharsan with a well-placed delivery in the closing moments of the game.

An injured Baba Indrajith came out to bat, attempting to withstand the pressure, but his efforts fell short as Krishna wrapped things up with 19 balls remaining in the day.
