Today, the second day of the first match is being played and the most hilarious incident occurred during a review which the fans can’t get over. The video of the same made it to social media and went viral within minutes.
Having won the toss, West Indies chose to field first. Pakistan came out pretty well on the first day and they put up a decent total of 217 in the first innings. Batsman Fawad Alama was the best Pak batsman on Day 1 with a score of 56 off 117.
Coming in to bat in their first innings, West Indies were off to a horrible start as two of their top-order batsmen Kieran Powell and Nkrumah Bonner departed for a duck. However, opener and West Indies test captain Kraig Braithwaite lived up to fans’ expectation and played a sensational knock of 97 off 221 to help the Windies take the lead. He missed his century for just 3 runs due to an unfortunate run out and that is what caused the hilarious incident.
The decision was taken upstairs where it was seen that he was way outside the line and was clearly out. However, the umpire took significantly longer to take the decision. We all know that the decisions of the TV Umpires are shown on the giant screen on the field and in this case, it caused a whole lot of trouble.
