USA pacer Kyle Philip banned by ICC for his illegal bowling action

The United States of America (USA) team is facing a tough battle in the World Cup 2023 qualifiers being held in Zimbabwe, and now their struggle is going to be even more difficult because the star fast bowler, Kyle Philip, has been banned by the ICC. The ICC’s event panel has suspended Philip from international cricket with immediate effect due to his involvement in illegal bowling action.

On Sunday, June 18, 2023, a match was played between the USA and West Indies, and it was after this match that the match officials reported the bowling action of the 26-year-old player. Now, the ICC has made a decision on it.

The event panel carefully examined the footage of Philip’s bowling action and found that his action is illegal, violating the regulations under clause 6.7. As a result, he has been suspended from bowling in international cricket.

Philip’s suspension will remain in effect until he rectifies his bowling action and presents it again before the ICC. This means that he will have to make some improvements in his bowling action so that it complies with the rules.

Philip had a fantastic start to the competition by taking three wickets in the first match against West Indies, but now he will not be able to play the remaining matches, which will be a major setback for the USA team.
