After a loss to England in their opening Super Eight match, the West Indies faced a must-win encounter against co-hosts USA at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown.
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, the Men in Maroon struck early in the second over, with Andre Russell outsmarting Steven Taylor to secure the first wicket. Despite the early setback, Andries Gous and Nitish Kumar mounted a counterattack, with Aaron Jones stepping in after Kumar’s dismissal in the seventh over.
The contest turned fierce as the USA captain, Jones, took on the tall pacer Alzarri Joseph and launched a mammoth six, leaving Joseph bewildered.
Joseph had been bowling at around 140 kph, but he decided to increase his pace by 5 kph and delivered a short ball aimed at Jones. The ball rose nicely for the right-handed batter, who executed a powerful pull shot, sending it soaring over the deep square leg boundary for a colossal six.

The connection between bat and ball was so clean that the white ball soared high and landed on the roof. Joseph’s frustration was evident as replays confirmed the massive 101-meter hit, sparking a buzz on Twitter as fans marveled at the enormous strike.
