When asked to name the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) in Indian Premier League’s history by Jio Cinema, former South African international AB de Villiers chose Mahendra Singh Dhoni and spoke highly of him.
During Jio Cinema’s ‘Q20s’, when AB de Villiers was asked about who he considered to be the Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T) in the IPL, he replied that, for him, it is MSD in the Tata IPL 2023.
In the IPL, the skipper of CSK has accumulated 5036 runs across 236 matches. Although he has never scored a century, he has 24 half-centuries to his credit.
With four IPL titles to his name, he stands as the second most successful captain in the tournament, right after Rohit Sharma. Additionally, he holds the seventh position among the tournament’s highest run-scorers. However, his achievement falls one short of Sharma’s tally with MI.
Having featured in 184 IPL matches, the former RCB star amassed 5162 runs, which includes three centuries and 40 half-centuries. His achievement places him as the sixth-highest run-scorer in the history of the tournament.
