After a great start by the Indian opener Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, the pair added 97 runs for the opening stand in 37.3 over. Probably one of best opening stand for India in England after a long time and only the second pair to face 200+ balls for the opening stand in England, Wasim Jaffer and Dinesh Karthik has faced 200+ last time for India in England on 2007
After Jimmy Anderson got the best of Rohit Sharma at 97 all of sudden England got the momentum and capitalise it to the maximum by picking 3 more wickets in the same session.Once again a typical Rohit Sharma innings as he dismissed after getting set and didn’t maximises it.
After Rohit Sharma, C Pujara departs early at 104 by Jimmy Anderson, at the same score Jimmy Anderson sent back the Indian skipper to the dressing room by a brilliant delivery and Kohli departs for a duck, Jimmy Anderson won the first battle of the series.
At one stage India were on 97/0 and all of sudden 104/3 to 112/4 as Rahane got RUNOUT. There was absolutely no run there and the Indian captain shakes his head from the dressing room with disappointment.
