After a commanding powerplay, the MI Emirates lower order propelled the scoreboard to 180 runs, and the bowlers, in turn, supported the effort with ruthless new ball bowling.
Akeal Hosein made a significant impact for the Emirates by claiming the first wicket during the powerplay, dismissing his national teammate Johnson Charles, and celebrated the moment with an entertaining gesture.
In the second innings, Johnson Charles struggled to find his rhythm, managing just three runs off the first five balls. However, in the final delivery of the first over, his stumps were shattered as he attempted to drive a length delivery.
Hosein delivered a flighted ball that turned sharply into the right-hander, eluding the inside edge of the bat and crashing onto the stumps. Charles misread the line, expecting the stock ball from a left-arm orthodox spinner, only to be surprised by the skidding arm ball that swiftly hit the stumps.

Hosein’s celebration after the wicket was captivating, as he sprinted along the ground, pointing fingers towards the spectators and covering his ears with both hands. While this act wasn’t Hosein’s first, the Twitterverse couldn’t help but draw parallels with KL Rahul’s “shut-the-noise” celebration, observed both in national colors and during the IPL 2022.
