A packed Lord’s saw the final showdown between Oval Invincibles and Southern Brave as James Vince chose to bowl first. Oval’s openers, Will Jacks and Dawid Malan, got off to a flying start, reaching 44/0 in five sets.

Jofra Archer then broke the partnership by dismissing Malan, followed by Tymal Mills removing Jacks for 37 off 22. Jamie Cox and Sam Curran then steadied the innings with a vital 46-run stand, taking Oval to 92/2 in 65 balls.

However, Oval’s momentum was disrupted as Akeal Hosein triggered a mini-collapse, taking two quick wickets and marking each with a signature celebration.

On the 67th ball, Hosein bowled a length delivery around off stump to Curran, who mistimed a cross-shot, resulting in a top edge caught by Archer. The very next ball saw Hosein deliver a fast, straight ball on off stump, which the Oval skipper missed, and the stumps were shattered.

Energized, Hosein celebrated by pointing to the dugout and mimicking a shooting gesture, a moment that quickly became a hit on social media.
