Despite facing difficulties in the top and middle order, the Karachi Kings staged a comeback with Kieron Pollard playing a pivotal role in their bid to achieve a respectable total.
It was in the 13th over when Pollard and Irfan Khan turned the tide, rescuing the team from a precarious position at 89/5. Their partnership yielded a robust 76-run stand, with Pollard, the Caribbean all-rounder, spearheading the charge with an impressive strike rate of 171.4.
Although Pollard’s push for a half-century was halted on the final ball of the innings, a collision between Islamabad’s Alex Hales and Shadab Khan near the boundary denied a crucial four, underscoring their dedication to the game.
On the last delivery of the 20th over delivered by Hunain Shah, Pollard seized upon a full toss, unleashing a powerful drive down the ground.
Meanwhile, stationed at long-off and long-on respectively, Hales and Shadab raced to intercept the ball before it reached the boundary. Despite Hales managing to get a touch on the ball, a collision with Shadab caused it to elude his grasp.

Both players tumbled to the ground, prompting the physio to rush onto the field. Fortunately, Hales and Shadab quickly recovered, showcasing their resilience as they swiftly made their way back to the dugout.
