Anshul Kamboj, a fast bowler from Haryana, etched his name in history on Thursday by becoming only the third cricketer to take all ten wickets in a Ranji Trophy innings.
He achieved this remarkable feat during the fifth round of the 2024-25 season, playing against Kerala at the Chaudhary Bansi Lal Stadium in Lahli.
Kamboj, who needed just two wickets to secure the record at the start of the day, ended with sensational bowling figures of 30.1-9-49-10. His performance not only made him the third player in Ranji Trophy history to take all ten wickets in an innings but also set a new record for the best bowling performance by a Haryana bowler in the tournament.
The previous best for Haryana was held by Joginder Sharma, who claimed 8 wickets for 24 runs against Vidarbha in the 2004-05 season.
Kamboj’s extraordinary achievement places him in an elite group of cricketers who have taken all ten wickets in a first-class innings in India. He joins Bengal’s Premangsu Chatterjee (1956-57) and Rajasthan’s Pradeep Sunderam (1985-86) as the only players to have accomplished this feat in Ranji Trophy history.

Moreover, Kamboj is now the sixth Indian cricketer to take all ten wickets in a first-class innings, following in the footsteps of legendary bowlers such as Subhash Gupte, Anil Kumble, and Odisha’s Debasis Mohanty.
Kumble, who famously took a ten-wicket haul against Pakistan in 1999, is one of only three bowlers in international cricket to achieve this, alongside England’s Jim Laker and New Zealand’s Ajaz Patel.
