In the IPL 2024 opener between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans, captain Hardik surprised former skipper Rohit Sharma by assigning him an unfamiliar fielding position.
Rohit, accustomed to patrolling within the 30-yard circle throughout his captaincy tenure, found himself stationed at long on, much to his astonishment.
The turning point of the game? None other than Jasprit Bumrah. Despite being held back for three overs, Bumrah made a significant impact when he finally took the ball, delivering his trademark toe-crushers to dismiss a well-set Saha.
Gill, too, seemed poised until he gifted Chawla a wicket in an attempt to clear the boundary. Sai, as usual, played his part in setting up the innings for the Titans.

Bumrah returned to claim both Miller and Sai in the same over, limiting the Titans’ score. It was Tewatia’s timely cameo that propelled them past the 160-run mark, saving them from finishing even lower. While Coetzee impressed on his IPL debut, Luke Wood’s performance was less than stellar.
