WATCH : Babar Azam foolishly throwing away his wicket to put Pakistan in trouble

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat against South Africa, but it was the South African bowlers who dominated the first powerplay, taking out Pakistan’s top-order batsmen.

In the early overs, Jansen dismissed Abdullah Shafique, and Imam-ul-Haq edged one to gully, leaving Pakistan at 58/2 after 10 overs.

Pakistan needed a solid partnership, and Babar Azam provided hope with a half-century, but Pakistan was at 136/4 after 27 overs.

However, in a crucial moment, Azam attempted a risky lap sweep off Tabraiz Shamsi and was caught by Quinton de Kock, despite the initial umpire’s decision.

De Kock’s successful review marked a turning point, as Azam’s dismissal, just after reaching fifty, left him visibly disappointed.
