Chennai Super Kings put themselves in a position to win their third consecutive game with an impressive batting display, scoring 235/4 in their first innings at the famous Eden Gardens on Sunday.
Kolkata Knight Riders had a tough start, losing two key batsmen, Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana, within the first nine overs.
Rinku Singh and a half-fit Jason Roy tried to make a comeback, but KKR’s hopes were almost dashed when Roy was left stranded at the non-striker’s end after Jadeja’s attempt to run him out with a flick onto the stumps failed due to the bail briefly lifting before settling back in place.
Jadeja had another chance to get Roy out as he struggled with injury, but MS Dhoni’s fumble behind the stumps allowed Roy to survive and continue playing.
Despite a hurried flick towards the stumps, Roy narrowly missed being run out from less than a foot away. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings won this match easily.
