WATCH : Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a searing yorker that made Buttler literally bite the dust

At the Sawai Mansingh stadium on Sunday, the Rajasthan Royals enthralled fans with their batting performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad, posting a mammoth total of 214/2 at the end of their 20 overs. While Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson played well, Jos Buttler stole the show with his third half-century of the season.

The England captain played fluently, hitting 10 boundaries and four sixes. A sixth IPL century seemed inevitable until Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered some wizardry of his own.

With just 10 balls left in the innings, Buttler, batting on 95 off 58 deliveries, faced Bhuvneshwar. The batter shuffled across the stumps to open up avenues down the leg side but was completely trapped within the crease by Bhuvneshwar’s yorker straight into the blockhole.

The Kookaburra thumped into Buttler’s shin, causing him to fall to the ground on all fours. Although the umpire rejected Bhuvi’s enthusiastic appeal, the pacer immediately opted for a review without consulting his teammates.

Replays confirmed Bhuvneshwar’s suspicions and Buttler had to slowly walk back to the pavilion, well aware that the game would now be remembered not only for his impressive knock but also for the shambolic way in which he was dismissed by Bhuvi. The Twitterati was quick to heap praise on both individuals for their exemplary displays.
