In the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals faced difficulties as they could only manage to score 138/7 by the end of the 19th over. During the game, Washington Sundar proved to be a valuable asset for the team by taking three crucial wickets.
Bhuvneshwar also performed well as the second-best bowler by displaying impressive swing throughout the innings. In particular, his inswinging delivery that dismissed Axar Patel was the highlight of the match.
While bowling the 18th over, Bhuvneshwar aimed to control the run rate and delivered a yorker to the left-handed Axar Patel. The ball swung back sharply into the batter, causing him to miss the line of the delivery when attempting to flick it.
Despite playing on a good batting wicket, DC’s performance was yet again disappointing as they managed to score only 144. The opening batsman, Phil Salt, was sent out to start the innings but got out on the very first ball.
Although Warner and Marsh managed to form a partnership, DC’s fortunes quickly changed when Washington Sundar took three wickets in a single over. This setback resulted in DC slipping from a score of 57/2 to 62/5. However, Manish Pandey and Axar Patel were able to rebuild the innings with a partnership of 69 runs.
Unfortunately, the team suffered from run-outs towards the end of the innings, preventing them from accelerating the run rate. At the death, SRH bowled well and effectively executed yorkers, with Bhuvneshwar being the standout performer amongst the bowlers.
