Gujarat Titans delivered yet another clinical top-order performance, notching up the first century opening stand of IPL 2025. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill combined for a commanding 120-run partnership in just 12 overs before Avesh Khan finally broke through, dismissing Gill.
However, according to Ravi Bishnoi, that stand should’ve ended much earlier — in the seventh over, to be exact — and he was quick to use the weight of the wicket, given Gujarat’s top-heavy lineup, to convince skipper Rishabh Pant to go for the review.
On the final ball of a costly over, already hit for 12 runs, Bishnoi fired one down leg. Sai stretched forward to flick it but missed, the ball seemingly brushing close to the bat.
The bowler and keeper erupted in appeal, but the umpire called it wide. Bishnoi was in disbelief, and Pant gave Sai a sharp glance, perhaps looking for a reaction. The keeper appeared convinced there was no edge, but Bishnoi insisted, eventually persuading Pant to review.

Replays showed the ball missed the bat but grazed Sai’s pants — not enough for a wicket, but enough to overturn the wide call. While LSG lost the review, they managed to save a run, thanks to Bishnoi’s persistence.
