WATCH : Breetzke’s sixes give the fan a chance to redeem himself after the dropped catch

The second ODI between Australia and South Africa got underway with the Proteas winning the toss and electing to bat first. It was another chance for them to set a strong foundation, just as they had in the opening match. However, the start wasn’t ideal as both openers fell early during the powerplay.

Despite the early setback, Tony de Zorzi and Matthew Breetzke steadied the innings, ensuring South Africa picked up some momentum by the end of the field restrictions. After a quiet first seven overs, the visitors finally broke free in the eighth when Breetzke launched into Aaron Hardie, smashing 16 runs—including two towering sixes over square leg. While the big hits rattled the hosts, they turned into a special moment for one fan in the stands.

Both sixes landed in the same area, and though Australia’s fielders could only watch, a young supporter had his chance to shine on the big screen. The first six, struck on the fourth delivery of the over, seemed to fall perfectly for him—but it slipped through his grasp after clipping his wrist.

Redemption, however, wasn’t far away. When Breetzke cleared the ropes again just two balls later, the fan held his nerve, completed a clean catch, and celebrated his moment under the spotlight of the cricketing world.
