WATCH : Bumrah gets angry on Kohli after Run-out

Dean Elgar and Marco Jansen resumed their innings for South Africa on Day 3 after a solid start on Day 2. Initially cautious against Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah, they soon shifted gears and played aggressively. Elgar reached a commendable 150, partnering with Jansen for an impressive 111-run stand, firmly placing the ‘Green and Gold’ in control.

However, Elgar fell to a delivery by Shardul Thakur in the 95th over, just before Lunch, while Gerald Coetzee departed right before the break, setting the score at 392/7 after 100 overs.

The tail, led by Jansen, added valuable runs, concluding at 408. Jansen stood unbeaten at 84, as Temba Bavuma couldn’t bat due to medical reasons. Starting their third innings 163 runs behind, India’s Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to make an impact.

Kagiso Rabada dismissed Sharma, setting the tone. Shubman Gill followed suit before Tea, with India struggling at 62/3 after 16 overs. In the final session, the Proteas’ bowling attack dominated. Shreyas Iyer fell victim to Marco Jansen’s delivery, while Nandre Burger claimed the wickets of KL Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin in consecutive balls.

Despite Virat Kohli’s efforts, wickets kept falling, and India collapsed for a meager 133 runs. Despite some missed opportunities, South Africa emerged victorious, winning the two-match series by an innings and 32 runs.
