Once again, Daniel Jarvo, a cricket enthusiast and prankster from England with Indian roots, made an unauthorized entry onto the pitch during the 2023 World Cup match between India and Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, October 8.
A widely circulated image on social media shows Jarvo sporting a Team India jersey with the number 69 on the back. Virat Kohli and the on-field umpires can be spotted escorting him off the field, with security personnel later returning him to the stands.
Jarvo had previously made headlines during the India vs. England Tests when he appeared in an Indian jersey. This comedian and YouTuber gained notoriety after his impersonation of a member of the Indian team during the Lord’s Test in 2021, which resulted in his arrest by local authorities.
Jarvo is known for sharing comedic content on his social media platforms and has a history of invading the playing arenas in various sports, including cricket, football, and the NFL, among others.
In the 2023 World Cup match, Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, won the toss and elected to bat first against India. The Australian side was without the injured all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, who was replaced by Cameron Green.
