Now, back in Trinidad for the West Indies duties against India, Pooran faced the experienced and crafty Yuzvendra Chahal on the very first ball. Undaunted by the pressure, Pooran fearlessly smacked Chahal over mid-off for a boundary, showcasing his T20 prowess.
Despite Chahal taking two quick wickets in three balls, Pooran remained undeterred. On the following delivery, he unleashed an audacious slog-sweep for a massive six over deep mid-wicket, setting the Trinidad crowd into a frenzy. It was an invitation from Chahal that Pooran gladly accepted, connecting with finesse as he went down on one knee, sending the ball soaring over the fence.
It’s worth mentioning that Chahal is one of the world’s best leg-spinners, holding records as India’s all-time leading T20I wicket-taker and the leading IPL wicket-taker. Nevertheless, Pooran’s exceptional quality, unwavering confidence, and current form allowed him to fearlessly take on even the finest bowlers.

In the subsequent over, he continued his assault, attacking Axar Patel for a six and a four on the leg-side. Pooran’s sensational hitting form over the past year is evident in his confidence and ability to take on formidable spinners turning the ball into him, making him a positive match-up for left-handed batsmen.
