The BCCI released a teaser for an interview featuring Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli, where they engaged in a candid discussion.
Despite their history of on-field tensions and contentious exchanges on television, they largely put their differences aside during this conversation.
Gambhir praised Kohli’s remarkable performances during the 2014 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, expressing his admiration for Kohli’s ability to score heavily in Australia.
He also reminisced about his own famous innings of 137 against New Zealand in Napier, noting that he could never have batted as long as Kohli did.
A humorous moment arose when they teased each other about their on-field clashes. Kohli asked Gambhir whether the pressure from opponents and the comments made during matches had motivated him or led to his dismissals. Gambhir responded with a lighthearted jab, claiming he had experienced far more on-field altercations than Kohli.
The former Indian captain couldn’t help but laugh and nod in agreement, saying, “Main to ye dhoondh raha hun ki koi meri baat se agree kar jaye. Ye nahi bol raha ki galat hai. Koi to bole haan, yahi hota hai” (I’m just looking for someone to agree with me. I’m not saying it’s wrong; at least someone should say, yes, this is what happens).
A Very Special Interview 🙌
