The coin flipped in Rohit’s favor as he opted to bowl first against RCB. MI’s star all rounder Hardik Pandya returns after being out for the last two matches due to injury issues. Virat Kohli and co also came with two changes. Despite losing the last two matches, RCB are in 3rd position in the table with 10 points from 9 matches. Virat Kohli and co gave a good start to the innings despite losing Padikkal too early in the game. Kohli with Srikar Bharat built a partnership of 68 runs before Bharat was dismissed in the 9th over scoring 32 runs. Kohli went on to complete his 2nd consecutive fifty. Soon after completing his half century, Adam Milne removed Kohli in the 16th over of the game.

However, the one who stood out the most was Australian based all rounder Glenn Maxwell who was the most expensive player in this year’s auction. Maxwell looked in rhythm right from the beginning.

In his 56-run innings, Maxwell scored three sixes by using his trademark shot- reverse sweep shot. Maxwell pulls this shot remarkably every time he plays it. It started with Krunal Pandya’s delivery when Maxwell predetermined the shot and played it comfortably over the sweeper cover for a maximum.

The next time Rahul Chahar had put up two deep fielders waiting for Maxwell to play the shot. Maxwell’s audacity is so much that he doesn’t bother if there’s a deep point and deep cover, he goes through with the shot and sends it into the first tier.

In the first ball of the 18th over, Maxwell went for the reverse hit when Adam Milne bowled a slow leg cutter. Maxwell had to generate the power by himself this time and he managed to do so and sent it to the first tier over the third man fielder.

Maxwell ended up scoring 56 runs off 37 deliveries before being dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah in the 19th over. Maxwell managed to hit 6 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 151.35.
