In a thrilling encounter during the ongoing ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka, Harshit Rana, the talented seamer from Young India A and KKR, showcased his remarkable skills. Displaying shades of Cristiano Ronaldo’s athleticism, he leaped and took an extraordinary one-handed catch, dismissing Pakistan A’s batsman Qasim Akram in a moment that left spectators in awe.
The much-anticipated clash between the two arch-rival teams took place on Wednesday at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. India A and Pakistan A, both undefeated in the tournament so far, faced each other with their winning streaks hanging in the balance.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan A, also known as Pakistani Shaheens, found themselves all out for 205 runs. India’s seamer Rajvardhan Hangargekar was the star with an impressive five-wicket haul. Amidst the Pakistani resistance, Qasim Akram, batting at number 7, emerged as the top scorer with a valiant 48 runs.
Harshit Rana, the standout player from KKR in the IPL 2023, displayed his fielding prowess in the 46th over of the innings. Qasim Akram’s promising innings came to an abrupt end when he fell victim to Rana’s remarkable one-handed catch.

As the bowler, Hangargekar, sent a sharp short ball from around the wicket, it angled away from the right-handed Qasim Akram. Undeterred, Akram attempted to cut the ball but only managed to get a thick edge on it. The ball soared towards the short third man where Harshit Rana, positioned adeptly, leaped and executed a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss the Pakistani batsman.
