Iftikhar Ahmed created a rare spectacle by hitting six sixes in a single over during a PSL exhibition match on Sunday. This remarkable achievement came against Wahab Riaz, who recently assumed the role of interim sports minister of Punjab in Pakistan.
The exhibition match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi at Bugti Stadium on Sunday was a treat for cricket fans. Iftikhar Ahmed, the 32-year-old all-rounder representing the Gladiators, set the stadium ablaze with his batting performance.
He hit six sixes in the final over of the innings, bowled by Wahab Riaz, who recently took on the role of sports minister in the caretaker cabinet of Punjab in Pakistan.
Wahab Riaz was having a fantastic outing, with figures of 3-0-11-3, prior to the final over. The Gladiators were at 148/5 when Iftikhar Ahmed took over and set the match alight. He blasted every delivery out of the park, finishing with an impressive 94 not out off 50 balls and elevating his team’s score to 184/5.
The Gladiators’ final-over heroics by Iftikhar Ahmed were met with congratulations from all of the Zalmi players. His powerful hitting helped the Gladiators post a competitive score. However, the game was briefly interrupted due to a bomb blast in Quetta, but eventually resumed.
