India and Australia are currently engaged in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) in Adelaide. After opting to bat first, India got off to a poor start as Mitchell Starc, the Australian pacer, struck on the very first ball of the match, dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck.
Starc delivered an inswinging full-length ball from over the wicket, trapping Jaiswal plumb in front for an LBW. The early breakthrough added extra tension to India’s innings.
After taking the wicket and completing his over, Starc was seen fielding near the boundary, where an amusing moment unfolded. Indian fans began chanting at him, teasing him about leaving Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and his new IPL salary.
The chant continued until Starc caught on to what they were saying, but he kept his cool and ignored the distractions, maintaining his focus.
Starc had been part of the KKR team that won the IPL in 2024, playing a key role with the ball and earning back-to-back Player of the Match awards in the Qualifier and Final. He took 17 wickets in 13 innings during the tournament.

Despite his match-winning performances, KKR chose not to retain him for IPL 2025. Instead, Mitchell Starc was bought by Delhi Capitals for INR 11.75 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah on November 24-25.
