Ishan Kishan, in a remarkable display of batting prowess, achieved his maiden Test fifty by smashing an unbeaten 52 off just 34 balls. He attributed his success to the valuable batting tips he received from Rishabh Pant at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) prior to the West Indies tour.
Sharing his experience, Kishan revealed, “During my time at the NCA, Rishabh was also there for his rehab. We spent some time practicing together, and he offered me some helpful pointers. He observed my batting style, as we have played together in numerous matches and go back to our U-19 days.
Knowing my mindset and playing approach, he guided me on bat positioning and other aspects, which I found immensely beneficial. I truly appreciate his support and the time he took to chat with me about my batting.”
After a stellar performance of bowling out West Indies for 255, India showcased remarkable urgency in their second innings, scoring at an impressive rate of 7.5 runs per over, more than three times faster than West Indies’ reply so far, reaching 181-2 declared in just 24 overs.
Roach delivers to Ishan Kishan, who confidently sends the ball sailing over the boundary for a fantastic six! With that shot, Kishan reaches his well-deserved fifty, showcasing his remarkable batting skills. Despite his impressive milestone, there’s no sign of a declaration just yet. The delivery was a low full-toss outside off, and while executing the swing, Kishan, like Rishabh Pant, displays his flair by losing his bottom-hand grip, yet effortlessly sends the ball over long-on.
That's a smashing way to bring your maiden Test 50*@ishankishan51

Mohammed Siraj, who secured five wickets in the first innings, praised Kishan’s aggressive batting style and highlighted his ability to step up in the absence of Rishabh Pant. Acknowledging Kishan as the go-to man, Siraj emphasized that he possesses the skill to execute big shots and was given the freedom to attack the opposition bowlers, contributing significantly to India’s rapid run-scoring.
