WATCH : Jaiswal’s bazball style crushes Starc with a hat-trick of fours

Australia lost Marnus Labuschagne early on day two, with Bumrah claiming his wicket. Sam Konstas’ innings ended at 23 when Siraj had him caught by Jaiswal, and Travis Head soon followed.

A brief partnership between Steven Smith and debutant Beau Webster was broken when Prasidh dismissed Smith just before lunch. However, India’s concerns grew when Bumrah sustained an injury.

Despite strong resistance from Pat Cummins and Webster, India’s bowlers, led by Prasidh and Reddy, cleaned up the tail to bowl Australia out for 181, giving India a slender lead.

In response, India came out aggressively, with Yashasvi Jaiswal launching three consecutive fours off Mitchell Starc’s first over. On the second ball of the over, Starc bowled a short, wide delivery outside off, which Jaiswal, on the back foot, elegantly cut over backward point for a stylish four.

The next delivery was similar, short and wide, but Jaiswal timed his cut perfectly, sending it over deep point for another boundary. Starc’s frustration grew as he delivered the next ball, a length delivery wide outside off, which Jaiswal cut behind square on the offside, beating the deep point for another four.

Jaiswal, in excellent form, ended the over in style, driving the ball beautifully through the covers for a stunning boundary. The Mumbai star’s aggressive play lit up the final session, sparking a flurry of praise on Twitter for Jaiswal’s flair and attacking intent.
