WATCH: Jhulan Goswami wins the match for India W in the final over with a four

The Women’s cricket match between India and Australia is turning out to be the most thrilling series of the year so far and there are various proofs to support this proposition.

The two biggies of women’s cricket are currently playing a 5-match ODI series between themselves at Australia’s home turf. After the final over drama in the second match in which Australia clinched a victory in the very last ball of the game, the team’s stepped on at Harrup park, Makay for the third game which was not inferior to the second match in any aspect.

Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. They might not have gotten a desirable start to their innings as both Lanning and R Haynes departed early but the partnership between Mooney and Alex Healy gave Australia the firm ground they required. Mooney’s half century needs to be talked about the most though as it helped Australia reach a defendable score a lot. Australia women ended up scoring a total of 264 runs at the expense of 9 wickets in their 20 overs.

Coming on to chase, India got just the start they required. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Varma gave India a tremendous start and in at 3 Yastika Bhatia even bettered their performance. Both she and Shafali Varma scored half centuries and the three top order batters scored almost half the runs for India. Team India looked sloppy after the fall of these wickets but Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana played a brilliant cameo partnership of over 50 runs.

The match then proceeded to the final over. India needed 3 runs in the final 4 balls but All-rounder Jhulan Goswami needed just one. She finished off the match in style with a brilliant four and won India the match. What a great achievement it is for India’s Women’s team !
