The rain has resumed, prompting Jonty Rhodes, the fielding coach of LSG, to assist the groundstaff in reapplying the covers. As a result, we will need to exercise further patience.

Chennai Super Kings’ spin bowlers put Lucknow Super Giants in a precarious position, but the partnership between Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni helped the home team recover.

Despite the difficult pitch, Badoni managed to accelerate his innings and achieved a remarkable half-century in just 31 deliveries. Unfortunately, rain interrupted the match with only four balls left in the innings.

During the partnership, Badoni scored 38 runs off 26 balls, while he and Pooran put up a 59-run stand in 48 deliveries. However, Lucknow Super Giants had a shaky start, losing four wickets in the first eight overs.

Kyle Mayers fell to Moeen Ali in the fourth over, followed by Maheesh Theekshana dismissing Manan Vohra and Krunal Pandya, who was captaining the team in the absence of KL Rahul, in consecutive balls.

Ravindra Jadeja also took a wicket, dismissing Marcus Stoinis with a sensational delivery. Having lost two consecutive matches, Chennai Super Kings will be determined not to make it a hat-trick, especially given the critical stage of the season.
