In response, the Australian team faced a setback when they lost two crucial wickets in the powerplay, those of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh. They then pinned their hopes on Steve Smith and Josh Inglis.
However, just as Inglis appeared to be holding his ground alongside Smith, Kagiso Rabada bowled an exceptional delivery in the 12th over.
The right-arm fast bowler sent a back-of-the-length delivery towards the wicket-keeper batsman. Inglis appeared to have the line of the ball covered as he brought his bat down on the middle stump.
Nevertheless, the ball took an unexpected turn after pitching, too quick for Inglis to anticipate, and it whizzed past his outside edge, crashing into the off-stump. The delivery left Inglis visibly stunned, as evident from his exasperated reaction.
