WATCH : Karthikeya’s sniper throw skips the stumps but lands a direct hit on Farid Hasan

India skipper Mohammad Amaan won the toss and elected to bowl first under Dubai’s dry conditions. Bangladesh started cautiously, reaching 17/0 in six overs before losing Kalam Siddiki and Zawad Abrar early.

A crucial 53-run partnership between Mohammad Shihab James and Rizan Hossan steadied the innings, bringing the score to 119/3 by the 31st over.

However, India’s bowlers, led by Ayush Mhatre, Kiran Chormale, and Karthikeya, regained control, reducing Bangladesh to 155/6 by the 38th over. With Farid Hasan and Samiun Bashir at the crease, Bangladesh looked to rebuild and post a competitive total.

A dramatic moment occurred in the 40th over when Farid Hasan was injured during a quick single attempt. On the fourth delivery, Hardik Raj bowled a full-length ball on the middle stump to Bashir, who pushed it towards the gully and called for a quick run.

Farid responded, but a split-second hesitation between the batters caused confusion. Karthikeya, fielding at gully, quickly collected the ball and aimed for the striker’s end.

Unfortunately, his throw missed the stumps and struck Farid’s hand, leaving him in visible pain. The game briefly paused as the physio attended to Farid, who eventually resumed batting.

The incident caught the attention of fans, with many taking to social media to discuss it, showcasing the unpredictable nature of cricket.
