Over the years, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo have developed a strong friendship and have shared some humorous moments on the field. One of the most memorable incidents took place during the IPL 2012 Eliminator when Bravo dismissed Pollard, and in response, celebrated with the iconic ‘aeroplane’ move as the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) eliminated the Mumbai Indians (MI) from the tournament.
Recently, during a match where MI New York (MINY) triumphed over Texas Super Kings (TSK) on Saturday, Pollard seized the opportunity to return the favor to Bravo by mimicking his famous celebration. A video of this light-hearted exchange was shared by MINY on Twitter, showing the camaraderie between the two players.
Bravo took it in good spirit, smiling and acknowledging Pollard’s gesture, further displaying the mutual respect they share. While Kieron Pollard’s injury just before the Eliminator was a concern for MINY due to his crucial role in the middle order, Dewald Brevis stepped up to the plate in Pollard’s absence.
Despite being in and out of the MINY side due to the overseas players limit, Brevis seized the opportunity and showcased his talent as a young sensation. In two important games, Brevis played vital innings, demonstrating his ability to handle pressure. His knock of 57 against Washington Freedom helped MINY achieve a competitive total after a slow start.

In the match against TSK, Brevis once again showed composure, consolidating the innings and finding boundaries when required. These mature performances from the young South African prodigy have delighted the entire MI franchise, as they see him emerging as a potential superstar in the making.
