WATCH : Kohli and Livingstone fuel pre-IPL RCB camaraderie after Rashid’s near miss

Winning the toss, England opted to chase the target in the third ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Mark Wood quickly outfoxed Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who had just scored a century in Cuttack.

However, England’s bowlers couldn’t build on the early breakthrough, as Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill settled into their rhythm during the first hour of the innings.

Just when the pair seemed to be in control, England captain Jos Buttler introduced his go-to bowler against Kohli, bringing Adil Rashid into the attack—setting the stage for some playful banter.

After a soft back-foot jab to short mid-wicket on the first ball of the 15th over, Kohli was beaten on the inside edge while attempting to defend a fuller delivery. Rashid then bowled a leg break that straightened at leg stump and struck Kohli’s front pad.

The strong appeal was turned down by the on-field umpire, prompting an England review. With no bat involved, the TV umpire waited for the ball-tracking, which showed the ball missing the leg stump by a narrow margin.

The original decision stood, and Livingstone was seen strolling over to Kohli, teasing him with a two-finger gesture. Kohli, ever the good sport, smiled and playfully pushed him away, sparking some RCB camaraderie on Twitter ahead of IPL 2025.
